Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Level 2 Requirements

The best way to learn any physical skill is through a well planned progression. Mixed Martial Arts is no different. This professionally designed progression will allow any dedicated participant to achieve a high level of proficiency.
This is an outline of the requirements necessary for completion of Level 2. Before you are eligible for testing, you must have obtained the specified amount of hours and your skill must be up to par. You are encouraged to take notes and practice with other participants outside of class to further improve your skill level. Please feel free to ask questions.

Stance

  • Boxing
  • Kick

Footwork

  • Step and slide
  • Slide and step

Striking

  • Round kick
  • Foot Jab (Long & Short)
  • Knee #2
  • Jab

Clinch

  • Thai
  • Pummeling

Takedowns

  • Double

Grappling

  • Mount Escape
  • Bump and Roll
  • Guard Pass
  • Side Control Escape

Focus Mitts

  • The whole striking category (combative tool development)

Conditioning

  • Boxing - Shadowbox for three 1 minute rounds
  • Thaipads - Two 2 minute rounds

The conditioning requirement is just the minimum. You are highly encouraged to surpass this requirement through hard and dedicated training.
