I remember when I was in the ATA, and they had just started weapons. You could learn the bong mae ee (escrima) or song jo bong (nunchaku). Then I remember asking one of the masters (I think M.K. Lee) if we ever were going to learn weapons like the sai, kama, sword, etc. He told me they would never add weapons like that because they weren't traditional korean weapons. And now they teach a bunch more weapons, none of which are traditionally Korean.
