The only problem I have found with it, is that its better to use it in the middle of the ring, if I use it when their next to the ropes, then sometimes they can get a front kick in when their back is up against the ropes. But that means I just need to work on the speed of it.
Just a little advise, if you are in a situation in which you know you are going to need to fight back, start with it right away. it's not something people expect. and if you can get 2 or even 1 good straight blast punch in, it may be all you need. then he starts staggering, and throwing his hands up, which basically means he is begging to be grappled with or kicked in the groin, or ribs. you've got to take advantage of the situation, and the straight blast is one of those techniques that just makes it that much easier
