i dont support wtf or the others but general choi did at first teach tkd for self defence only. but changed his stance on the competition side of it when the traditional way was getting over run by schools wanting to compete. so through the yrs what he taught so many of his original blackbelts, which was tkd to be pure self defence. was no longer. so the original tkd system some what changed. In my mind.
I still respect all tkd schools. at the end of the day we are all promoting a korean art which links us all some how.
