You contradict yourself. Referance material is supplemental
I've used both ways of training. And when someone is comfortable with there teaching abilities, then it is possible that they are able "send their messge" in a way that others can't.
Anything that I offer is supplemental to the "hands on" training except if someone wants to try distant training before be able to get the hands on training, then I am sincere at "helping" them but without hands on training then NO rank can be obtained.
I don't think it's an argument of what is better. WE all know what is better. But the real question is what is the need of the individual student.
When I take in a new student, I teach them privately for a few weeks to a month 1 on 1. I'm able to excelerate them so that I don't take away from the other students when they are all together. Beginners need more attention. That is teaching to the student. If one is more concerned with "teaching to the class" then they could go to the nearest "Mc Dojo."
