This whole thread is starting to humor me. I have been fighting in MT (in ring) for 2 years. I train with 5 other styles who cross-train MT but are so called experts in other arts. MT can easily be learned, can easily be used in ANY application. It may take 12 months to become average, but when you do your offens and defense is applicable in any situation. I don't get into many situations outside of the gym or ring, but if I did I DON'T CARE WHO YOU ARE OR WHAT YOU KNOW, I will kick you, and hit you, not 1 or 2 ways like you guys are talking about but 12 to 15 ways. The funny thing is, and this sums most of this whole issue up. If you learn ALL aspects of MT, and how to use ALL 8 Limbs properly the damage that can be inflicted is massive. These chiniese fighters would have the advantage. No elbows or knees. Take the real fighter and just tie both hands behind is back. The reason they do this is becasue in a applicable situation where someone that knows how to use these does properly they could not compete. So in my book when you talk about stand-up fighting don't tell me other arts can beat a MT fighter and then in the same sentence tell me there are no knees elbows, ect. Limiting the weapons God gave you is not a true fight.
