Nice try at justification of tkd. But why to you feel you need to defend tkd? It's not the only art that gets bashed on this forumn. Wing chun and shotokan gets bashed just as much. Traditional martial artist train with weapons thus their approach to combat is different that say a mma or grappler. Forget about defending tkd, or wing chun or shotokan. Just get in touch with your purpose. That is why do you study and why do you practice? The answer to these question should help you find peace with yourself and your art. Practice every day and you will be ready for anything. Unless you plan to fight for money in a mma tourney, any art will suffice. Be it wing chun, shotokan, jkd or tkd. Don't worry about what others think; just go somewhere and practice.
