Let me say just one thing about Judo... Yeah, it's a "sport" and big fun to be sure.
Try to keep in mind the mutual welfare and benifit of your training partners, competitors and teachers when you play.
When you fight it's up to you to decide the level of force. You don't need to break arms or choke out a shoplifter but you might want lock out the arm if it's holding a weapon?
Or destroy it, it's all about having options.
a good player is not necessarily a good fighter but you will get from judo exactly what you put into it, and maybe more.
