I'm gonna have to agree with Thai Bri on all points of his arguement.
My question is - where does the tape originate from. If its from mainland China - then of course the monk will win. It doesn't take a master to figure that one out. If the monks were so good at fighting - then why doesn't China send there best SanDA/San Shou fighters to train with the monks.
Now before people start saying "well the monk wasn't trying at all" and all that great nonsense - I understand that the monks aren't solely there to train to fight. But they should understand the foundamentals of fighting. Put a monk against and San Da fighter and we all know who will win. Now if we talk about forms - of course the monk will win.
Anyone who has done any real sparring or fighting will know that any jump techniques are very dangerous. Spinning and turning your back to your opponent is one thing but to spin and jump - c'mon now. Throwing high risk moves are great if it can be implemented but thats what they are "high risk" and if one is smart (in a full-contact environment) - one will limit their high risk attacks.
If I saw someone do that in the ring - it only says 1 of 2 things: (1) they don't know what they are doing or (2) the fight or sparring match doesn't allow full contact. Let the devote followers FLAME ON!
