Sorry Aikido guy...but aikido is a pretty weak style compared to most styles. It has some good stuff, but Aikido guys cant defend a shoot nor take a low roundhouse. Real grapplers dont like aikido because you cant use it in a grappling match, sorry brotha. As far your questions, there kind of stupid. If youre taking a grappling class, why would they pay much attention to striking? Some classes touch it a little. It sounds like you want MMA or Vale Tudo training. Also, you wanna take grappling but not go to the ground...Judo is for takedowns. I dont see how you plan to grapple with someone standing, once you take him down you usually gotta go with him so once your down you should learn what to do when your there. Judo is a SPORT. Are you in it for sport, competition, mma or what?
