probably. If I did MMA or trained people to participate in MMA, i'd have them very knoledgable of the elbow strike for knock out power and opening up cutts. It sucks to loose a fight over a cut. But if your going against a apponent that can't be knocked out, that would be one way to get a win. But , i'd say it would be a good idea to have the elbow's and knees padded. Everything you strike with should have a specific amount of padding over the area.
