Sorts out the men from the boys hehe!

Thats a good example of what a Burpee should look like.

Great! I guess that means I'm a boy again. I did 5 and I was done. It kinda makes the men into boys and the boys into men. A really cool 15 year old in my class who has a great attitude can do 60 pushups in a minute and 25 burpees in a minute. I always tell him that I want to strap 150 lbs on his back and than see how many he can do.

We take class time very seiously but let me just tell you how glad I am that we can all joke around and have a great time every night in class. Even the instructors know how to to have a lot of fun and laugh at themselves.

Since I have free time I'd thought I'd ramble a bit.

I appreciate the one on one help I've gotten from my instructors when it's come close to testing time. I've had several classes where I've had 45 miutes with one of the instructors giving me instruction on how to do all the punches, kicks, and pad work we do. Taking it real slow and getting that help can really change the way you do something. For instance, I was doing a slide step round house kick at about 3 feet and locked out, and with 10 minutes help I was doing that same kick at about 4 1/2 feet while locking my knee out. I thought I was leaning back far enough but I guess not. Once I understood my balance it was all clear to me.

Oh well, I definately have no intentions of being the next MMA fighter on the block but I definately will be in enough shape to make sure my son does not sit in front of the TV all weekend and to get out there and have fun in life. I think of all the great times I had with my family catching frogs and fish at the local creek and hiking around for hours on weekends because we weren't allowed to watch tv on the weekends. I could care less if my son is not the first kid to make it to the last level of the new kill em, bang em up video game on Playstation 8.

I'm in it for the fun and exercise. And just for the simple pleasure of my knees not hurting anymore is bonus!

Peace Out!
