I was wondering if somebody has taken it a step further in a general trainer/coach direction with a bit broader base. I mean, there is a lot to gain from other sports as well. I am trying to avoid 'barn blindness', not looking past the mat of my MA in my style (though I think their approach to the instructor quandrum is very good!)

I think what you should look into first, is
safe practice!
MA generally, tend to endorse many 'banned'/'prehistoric' exercises.
Once you've eliminated those, you'll have a better idea of what to base your program on.
