When this happens again stop sparring and just ask him to go lighter, that you're not interested in hard training at this time. If he doesn't honor your request with respect then take "the next step".

At your age it's easy for this to become an ego thing and get caught up in trying to prove who's tougher. At my age (and personality) it's real easy for me to stop right in the middle of sparring and yell at him loud enough for everyone to hear; "Hey! What the hell are you doing!?! We're supposed to be sparring, not fighting!" Then walk off the floor, go up to the instructor and say, "Look, I gotta go to work tomorrow and earn a living and I don't need some punk trying to prove how tough he is at my expense. Talk to him or get me another partner."

Believe me, it works like a charm. You just gotta be assertive. As for training hard, that's supposed to be a mutually agreed-upon thing. We've all done it at one time or another but it's not supposed to be a full-contact competition when you're supposed to be just training and perfecting technique.
