I don't get winded easy, but when I do ANY type of exercise lately, my heart rate skyrockets to around 150 and I've pushed it past 200 on more than a dew occasions without really paying attention.
Somebody told me that this isn't only dangerous, but could possibly cause irreperable damage to my cardiac muscles and generally **** me in the long run.
Since, I have quit smoking, I rarely drink anymore...and I have been making all reasonable efforts to eat better (as well as I can being an indigent student.) Is there anything else, besides gradual successions (I feel like a fucking pussy, I want to push myself, but I also don't want to do damage if this person is right) in my cardio that will help?

i would really check again as your BP is spot on normal, id be suprised if your resting rate is really that high, try taking your pulse in the morning when you wake up and stay relaxed when you do it.
Id get 10 readings or so when you are in a really relaxed state and if its still that high then i suggest you see your doctor and discuss it with him.
I have a feeling you are stressed and suffering from anxiety but your BP seems ok, so may just be you taking your pulse at the wrong time.
