I doubt you'd find another video of this kid even attempting such a thing in his other competitions, so chances are, he was just aware enough to make it work when he needed to, and it allowed him to win the match.
What would you rather? That he just got taken down and lost?

now that he has pulled it off and watched himself do it over and over on youtube and showd it all his friends, i wouldnt doubt it if he would go for it again. but then again maybe he watched it and thought damn that move was risky, i better not try anything like that again.
breaking your neck or back isnt worth winning a highschool wrestling match or a jiu jitsu competition.
