Those arent quotes, they are phrases. Hasnt really got anything to do with it. Regardless, what you are doing is the same as misusing the phrases you have listed,for example you cant say that gay means "happy homosexuals" because it doesnt though you could easily think that if you read both interpretations of it. Thats what you are doing.


You cant quote one man and then take it to mean something different.

There is a huge difference between that, which is formally accepted, and you making it up as you go along and essentially misquoting/misinterpreting what someone else said.
