Dick, I have to say, if you're not willing to let a guy work in on a machine (especially if it's the only one at the gym), I think it's you that's rude. It's pretty common in every gym I've ever belonged to for people to be able to ask to work in. I don't see how you think it's a big deal, or how it's akin to "cutting in line."
yes its very common for people to ask to work in. its also common for people to deny when you ask. its your choice to make a big deal about it, and turn it into a "conflict". i myself would simply just choose to do a different exercise instead of wasting time i should be spending working out to go find a guy, complain to him, have him go talk to another party, etc..... ive been denied many times before when i wanted to work in with people, it wasnt a big deal at all. this guy trying to say he couldnt have gone away and done couple more sets of situps, or a few more pushups instead of wastning his already very limited time complaining??
