rome total war is an awesome game. you get to create and control an army made up of different units like phalanxes, cavalry, archers, etc....and battle them out in real time......there are a ton of different units and empires to choose from, you can play online as well. lots of strategy involved

medieval 2 is also great, its based on the rome total war game engine, but this game is newer with better graphics, smoother gameplay, and different nations and armies, units etc.......this game is set in a different time period too, as some units in medieval 2 have gunpowder and field musketeers, cannons, etc...
