Default Mandatory DNA Collection Laws

Just saw this on CNN: new laws passed in several states requiring the surrender of a DNA sample from those arrested (not convicted, but arrested) for certain violent crimes.

Rape victim pushes for expanded DNA database - CNN.com

"These states require DNA from people arrested for some felonies: Alaska, Arizona, California, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Mexico, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. Next year, California and North Dakota will require DNA from all felony suspects."

So much for civil liberties.
