OK, I'm going to stand up for 41 year old BJJ students everywhere(I'm thinking blue belt and up).
1) They opt not to begin with a kick to the head (or whatever that was). This prolongs the fight by at least 10 seconds.
2) They try for the guard as opposed to the eye gouge. Even if they can't get guard (and, my God man, at least get half guard if you are a blue belt), this prolongs the fight for at least 15 seconds.
3) OK, so Marsh then gets cross side. Blue belt dude shifts right to releive the neck crank, left to avoid the keylock, back and forth back and forth. Another 25 seconds easy.
4) Most importantly, blue belt dude knows a good keylock when he sees it and taps. He thus forgoes a damn mpeg broadcast everywhere in the universe with his arm going snap crackle pop.
So, I'm thinking a fight twice as long with a dignified tapout.
And if he's a Renzo purple belt, f'ing forget it, the fight is on and Marsh better watch his arms.
