Part One- Barrack Obama’s economic policy Out of all the problems I have with Barrack Obama (in-which there are many) the one thing that concerns me the most is “wealth redistribution”…I mean wealth confiscation.
I am hitting this one hard because I think the economy is what many Americans are voting on most, and where Barrack seems to have some advantage over McCain, although I don’t know why. As I have explained earlier in the thread the current state of our economy was caused by government interference with the free markets, and in some cases; government collusion with big business and special interest groups such as ACORN. I also explained that the democrats are more to blame for perpetrating this crisis than are the republicans, although republicans share some responsibility for this mess too.
What folks (voters) don’t seem to realize or in the zealousness for "change" (even if that change is for the worse) don’t understand the insidious consequences of socialism. Socialism begets socialism magnifying its effect with dangerous consequences.
As an example:
Government interferes in the free markets (such as fairness in lending—lending to low income high credit risk folks), Freddie and Fannie (part government, part publicly traded business) buys up many of these loans…The banks see less risk because Freddie-Mack is buying up many of these high risk loans. Banks are also being pressured to loan money to low income high risk folks by the government and lobbyists, and protested and intimidated by citizen groups like community organizer ACORN.
There is direct government interference in what should be a free market. There is also government in collusion with big business and citizen groups lobbying the politicians to become more involved. Then it all comes crashing down.
What is the Remedy? Allow corporate Darwinism and the weak businesses to shake out and get the government out of the business of big business (and small business too).
The Great depression was caused by government interference with the free markets and it was made worse and prolonged because the people wanted government to fix it, the same people who broke it in the first place, and the government was happy to oblige.
Today the answer our politicians are giving us is more of the same; instead of less government and less government regulation the call is for more…Socialism begetting socialism.
Socialism also begets socialism because once you institutionalize handouts the recipients getting those handouts don’t want it to give them up. In fact, it is human nature to want more and it is in a politician’s nature to want votes so he’ll promise those voters more…At least until it all comes crashing down again. Then the cycle repeats—blame it on the other party, blame it on the rich capitalists, blame on the mean people who want to show restraint and responsibility, etc, etc, and then the call for more government regulation.
When someone complains about socialism supporters of social programs often reply, we already have socialism; look at Medicare, social security, and public education—as an excuse to justify more. We need to break the cycle folks; we need to show restraint and tell our leaders to stop spending our money.
Don’t let the feeling of victimization beget more victimization. If you aren’t in a place you want to be, do something about it, go back to school, learn new skill, find a different job, work for that promotion, discipline your self and work hard and don’t quit. Keep on your goals with pit-bull tenacity….You can only elevate yourself it isn’t someone else’s job to do it for you.
