Obama and the Tax Tipping Point - WSJ.com and tell me how did we get so far up the ASS of socialism?
It was Hugo Chavez who said, not long ago, the United States Constitution is too individualistic and ought to be reformed to be more socialist.
Barrack Obama’s policies seem to agree with Mr. Chavez. In this video, please listen” to the audio:
Barrack is concerned the Constitution places too many limitations upon the government when he complained about the Warren Court didn’t do enough to facilitate redistributive economic policies. What Obama really wanted was for the courts to impose a “right” to welfare.
Barrck Obama wants to impose significantly higher taxes on the most successful individuals and companies in our nation, thus creating incentives for them to work less, produce less, or shift their activities abroad. This is a recipe for decline in America.
Obama believes that some individuals’ productive efforts should be taken and given to other non-producers at the whim of government. He wants to create a permanent class of give-me’s that will continue to ask for more and more give-me’s. The end result is the give-me’s keep asking for more unearned benefits believing they are entitled to them and before long there won’t be any because the productive class will have given up on giving more and more of their wealth and go on vacation while the give-me’s complain about not having enough.
What wealth redistribution really amounts too is wealth confiscation and legalized plunder.
Frederic Bastiat (French economist and theorist in the mid 1800’s) points out that once the government over steps the clear line between the protective role into the aggressive role of redistributing the wealth and providing so called benefits for some of its citizens; it becomes a means for what he accurately described as legalized plunder.
Bastiat explains legal plunder:
“When a portion of wealth is transferred from the person who owns it—without his consent and without compensation, and whether by force or by fraud—to anyone who does not own it, then I say that property is violated; that an act of plunder is committed…
How is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them. And gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen by himself cannot do without committing a crime…”
(The Law)
What Bastiat observed, and history has proven, is class struggle or “class warfare’ where each class or special interest group competes with others to tilt the balance of governmental power in their favor. As an example of this, labor seeks a higher minimum wage, so agriculture seeks a price support. Consumers demand price controls, and industry gets protective tariffs. In the end, no one is any better off and everyone suffers the burdens of a monolithic bureaucracy. With each group out to get what they perceive belongs to them, an obliging government hungry for money and voters expands into a gigantic welfare state. Once this process begins giving way to redistributive functions—forces are unleashed that drive a nation towards totalitarianism.
It is Marxist doctrine that says, a human being is primarily an economic creature. In other words, his material well-being is all important; his privacy and his freedom are strictly secondary. Is that what we are, economic cattle? Let me ask you, what secured rights do prisoners have? They are guaranteed food, clothing, housing, and medical care. These are the rights guaranteed in the “soviet constitution”.
Socialism assumes our money belongs to the government and what they don’t tax is a gift to us from them. It is irresponsible and puts us on the road to becoming kept citizens because socialism consumes the fruits of your labor and individual liberty.
