I think there is definitely an appeal to meeting, and getting a chance to roll with other legends in the BJJ world. But there is a lot more to it than that. I think any BJJ BB who has competed at an elite level developes their own "game". Maybe you have trained for a couple of years with a big strong guy who is an excellent mount fighter. The visiting instructor is a smaller guy who is excellent at sweeps, whatever. Besides, if you can't justify $50 to spend a day with Carlson Gracie maybe the seminar thing isn't for you. Just like anything else, some people dig it, some don't. |
