I asked my dentist and he told me to get the kind that you boil so it gets soft and will mold to your teeth. I told him that was all mouth-guards and he shrugged. I usually use a single (top only) mouth guard and I've never had a problem. You might want to experiment with them to decide what you like best but IMHO there's no reason to spend more than you have to for a fancy one.
