Do you mean Texas A&M? If so, disregard the redneck and cowboy hat part in the previous post. College Station is where A&M is. It's about an hour and a half outside of Houston. It's not bad, but it's pretty hick and there is NOWHERE to train grappling or MT.
Galveston is an island an hour outside of Houston (the other way from A&M). The waves suck, but hell there's sand and water.
Tim is a great MT instructor. Trained with and is ceritfied by Master Chai.
The BBQ and Mexican food is to die for.
It's hotter than hell and 90% more humid.
Crime isn't that bad for a big city, if you're in the right part of town.
Traffic sucks ass. Houston is very spread out and people don't walk here because of the heat. Once you get the main freeways and streets down, getting around isn't bad.
Houston is know for NASA, oil and computers for business. Our pro sports teams are the Astros, Rockets and Texans next year. Racial breakdown is probably 35% white, 35% hispanic, 20% black and 10% asian. Anything you want to do can probably be done here.
Dallas/Fort Worth is four hours north. Austin is three hours west/north west. San Antonio is three hours west. El Paso is twelve or thirteen hours west (no joking, Texas is big).
