I do it, as my Instructor knows millions of variations......... I don't draw anything though, I just write a description. It was hard at first but I somehow developed my own code words etc. After some consideration I can usually see which techniques would be useful for me, and I discard the rest.

I think the practice is good for visulaisation practice, though I've not been disciplined enough to do this regularly. I often see a technique when sparring, only to react too late. I think visionning will help solve that little problem.

I often leave note taking to the next day. Somehow I can remember more if I find a quiet moment and really think back about the class. There's only a set amount you can learn anyway. Although we may do half a dozen techniques in a clas, I feel that things are going well if I get just one that will be suitable for adding to my arsenal.
