This is tragic for his kids if it is true. Sorry, I didn't have the time to read/check the sources, so I'm just responding to this post.
But why are you all so angry? There's deadbeat dads in every city and town and you and I end up paying for their kids welfare/food stamp, etc w/ our taxes. On the other side of the coin, there's single mom's w/ 5 kids from 5 different dads and mom's only goal is to get pregnant again, as they'll get more government cheese. And all of us better continue working, as your tax dollars are very much needed. I'm not saying, there aren't many, many people in dire need of help, government support, etc, and if this story is true, then I'd say Shamrock's wife and kids are in need. But I just din't understand the extant of everyone anger as we probably all know someone or a friend of a friend doing the same thing.
I'm really not trying to start a long, drawn out debate on the welfare system, etc, as I don't have the time, motivation or inclination for this. I'm just curious about everyone's extreme anger.
On a side note, the coolest and kindest MMA fighters I ever met and got pictures with were Frank Shamrock, Josh Barnett, Kimo (a damn cool guy, spoke w/ us for 15 minutes in the mall), and John Lewis. The biggest MMA jerk I met was Ken Shamrock. At a Superbrawl in either 1996 or 1997 (can't remembe which) he refused to take a picture w/ me and 2-3 other fans who asked. It was before the show and no one else was around. He was just walking around alone, and he said if he took a picture everyone would come running up for the same and he had no time for that.
