When sparing, in class I ware leg and arm pads. They are thin pads that protect the soft area on the top of your hand and foot. Also along the top of your forarm and shin. They do very little and full knuckle contact still happends. When we spar the only rules we have are .. not kicks to the nads .. and of course no eye gouges/dirty stuff.
We go almost all out. Personally I pull back on alot of my moves because I dont want to hurt some people (eg on kicks to the head) .. they know when I could have hurt them and they dont chuck a sneaky hit in. Some students do hit as hard as they can .. its personal choice.
We dont stop when someone get hit .. unless is something serious where they cant fight after teh blow.
I pretty much count this is full contact. But because I guess most of us to hold back on our attacks I suppose its also not full contact. (most attacks I dont hold back on .. its just attacks to the head which I do .. or solar plexis).
