Back to reality and away from Kung Fu land(on a side note, one should never EVER use the terms "kung fu" and "reality" in the same sentence.):
The reason why you dont see these arts is because they don't work as they are SUPPOSED TO. Skinny Royce Gracie pimp slapped Minoki Ichihara at UFC 2. If anyone here follows Karate or Kyokushin then, just like me, you must have thought Ichihara was going to kill Gracie.
Didn't happen.
Most of these arts are based on THEORY. It should tell you something when the moment you ask someone to prove something they can't do it for shiit.
Most arts like TKD, Kung Fu, Karate etc, would tell a 110lbs man that he can disable a much larger person by punching him in the nose, kicking him in the nads and generally stop him with blows only. We now know that this just isn't the case. Yet with arts like BJJ we see proof of the opposite. We see a skinny brazilian kid named Royce Gracie choke out shootfighter Ken Shamrock in less than 1 minute. We see him take down and destroy Pat Smith. We see him choke out Gerard Gordeau and Dan Severn. All of these guys were WAY bigger and stronger the he was.
With your own eyes you have SEEN technique defeat strength and size, something your instructors have always told you was possible, but because its not striking and "kiai" you are instantly opposed to it.
Martial arts have evolved an incredible amount in the last 15 years.
Anyone here can go over to
www.mcdojo.com and watch the video of Emin Boztepe attacking "grandmaster" William Cheung and tell me if you see ANY technique WHATSOEVER in that fight. It looks like 2 little kids fighting on an elementary school playground.
And what happens to "Grandmaster" Cheung? He gets put in a friggin headlock and can't escape.
Comedy.
Keep training your hsing i. I'm sure one day you will be a soft fighting machine capable of Dragon Ball Z like power.
