Your instructor is correct. There really isn't much that you CAN do about it. The only suggestion that I can make is to "buddy-tape" your jammed toes to at least help them remain immobilized so that you do not injure them further. Other than that, try to go through your workout focusing on the skills that do not bother those toes.
