Against beginners I can acquire the closed guard very easily by jumping into the guard as their waist is usually open.

However I would like some ideas on how to lead an advanced opponent into the guard. these are people who usually protect their waist area or leave one leg up ready to pass the guard.

I find I cannot make it to the guard with these people. Then I end up in a bad position and have to escape. Now sure I can try takedowns etc instead of going to guard but that is not my issue. I'm looking for any tricks on how to bait an opponent to enter the guard!
