It's a simple truth that Tae Kwon Do sucks... I can attest to this because I've gone through the entire TKD ordeal before—Forced testing, inadequate teaching methods and black belt in at least 2 years.

Basically, in TKD you are not judged by your merit, but by the length of study—which is crap-o-la. Anyone can learn to throw a kick, but not anyone can kick with power and efficiency. Aside from that, you have all these forms that go nowhere...

In contrast, BJJ takes years and years to learn. Furthermore, the proving ground is the mat. You only go as far as your skills take you. At my rate, it may take 25 years to reach black belt, but that's beside the point.

A funny scenario. I was checking out this Okinawan Karate school. A big Yellow Belt was beating the crap outta this black belt kid... Each time the yellow belt pulvarized the black belt, the instructor stepped in and scolded him for using the wrong techniques. Afterwards, the black belt was consoled with a certificate... Funny Shiet, man...
