I suspect Hall is smarter than anyone gives him credit for.

By insulting Shamrock's wife, Hall has quickly gone from has-been to someone fighting "the world's most dangerous man" at the world's premier MMA event.

I gotta believe that the phone calls/KOC brawl/lawsuit is partly responsible in some way for his being chosen as Shamrock's opponent.

How would Hall have achieved that otherwise?

BTW, I live about 10 miles from Hall. Several months ago (way before Pride matchups) a friend of mine talked to Hall's landlord. Landlord said Mark planned to fight Shamrock. We all laughed and asked how he was gonna pull that off? "By intimidation," the landlord reported.

Enquiring minds want to know.
