Default my take on iron palm

ya I know i used to do that. I took wing chun from a good friend of mine who was certified in it. It was nice cuz I got free private lessons. Before each lesson, he would have me straight blast a sand bag for about thirty minutes while he talked to me about wing chun principals. He also had this bucket filled with sand and he would have me punch into it and squeeze and twist the sand.
Afterwards, my forearms just ached! It was like I had been doing wrist curls untill my hands went numb.
He was very religious about iron knuckle training. He had graduated from the sand bag to a bag of ball berrings! He told me that hand conditioning was very important because the wing chun straight blast occured at very close ranges, risking a strain to your wrist . the human skull is harder than one thinks!. But more importantly, he said I was getting in my repetitions . Afterall, I was straight blasting for thirty minutes at a time.
One afternoon while at my house, I witnessed him punching the trunk of our oak tree , and leaving small dents in it. Eyes wide with wonder , I asked him what his secret was.
He smiled at me and said " Nerve damage."
