I am Thankful that...
- I am relatively healthy.
- I have an excellent wife and two smart, beautiful girls.
- both my parents are still alive and I get to spend time with them.
- I live in the greatest country in the world with more freedom and cool junk to buy than I will ever need.
Importantly, I realize that it was merely a quirk of fate that I was born into many of these things. I could just as easily have been born in a cardboard box in Bangladesh.
I'm not an overtly religous person, but one of the few times each year when I do pray is at Thanksgiving dinner. It goes like this... "Wow. God. Don't think I don't appreciate my good fortune because I certainly do!".
