Here we go, the battle for the belt. Big John gives his trademark "lets get it on", and the fight begins. Randleman comes out bouncing around. Couture inching forward. Randleman throws a jab. Couture shoots in and goes for the clinch. Couture appears to be affected by a randleman punch, randleman shoves couture against the fence and slams him to the mat. Couture is working off of his back with 4 minutes remaining and pinned near the fence.

Couture looks to be positioning himself for an arm bar, and Coleman shouts loudly to "watch the arm bar". COuture goes for the arm bar and has it in posiition! Couture has it on tight, randleman picks couture up and slams him to the mat! Randleman escapes and Couture goes back to guard. Randleman may have used a good deal of energy getting out of the arm bar though.

2 minutes 20 seconds remain with randleman chopping away at the ribs of Randy. Randleman still in Couture's guard, not doing much. Couture positioning himself once again for a submission attempt. 1:30 remaining with Randleman not causing any serious damage but appears to be burning energy. Randleman shoves his forearm into Couture's face with one minute remaining.

Couture has his foot pushing off of the fence and swings around. Randleman reverses couture and has randy pinned against the fence with 30 seconds left. Couture has randleman in the guard and kevin lands a punch to randy's face. Time expires with randleman in couture's guard and not much damage being caused.
