But for boxing activities, I would say: Warm Up Road Work Jumping Rope Shadow Boxing ( to mirror if possible ) Partner sparring Mitt Work Heavy bag work speed bag work Double End Bag medicine ball Push ups, Sit ups Maybe some Cycle Work Cool Down many Gyms have the fighter work each area in a "rounds" system, having each round be as long as the level that the fighter will compete. ( younger amateurs don't fight 3 minute rounds ). and then do as many rounds of each ( 3, 4 etc. depending on level ) as he may fight in competition. Training might also ( should ) include: footwork and balance drills technical skills such as punch combination drills counter punch and defense/evasion drills. reading relevant material about boxing. this is what I've seen anyway. Bet there is a lot more going on out there. Hope this helps. Last edited by speedbag; 12-07-2003 at 11:10 PM. Reason: forgot something! | |
