    Default Tyson doesn't mess around

    http://espn.go.com/boxing/news/2003/1219/1690276.html

NEW YORK -- A judge rejected Mike Tyson's bid to have his assault case thrown out and ordered him to stand trial Jan. 20.

A separate trial will begin on the same date for the two men charged with menacing the former heavyweight champion before he was accused of attacking them.

Tyson did not attend Friday's hearing. Defense lawyers argued that the boxer acted in self-defense after two men challenged him to a fight at dawn June 21 outside a Brooklyn hotel.

Lawyers and prosecutors agree that one of the two men told Tyson, "You've got fists, we've got guns." The former heavyweight champion is accused of chasing down the unarmed men and punching them out.

Tyson has pleaded innocent to charges of misdemeanor assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. If convicted, he faces up to a year in prison.

This is what happens in a street fight, and I am not even sure Tyson's to blame for this.

I think it stopped being defense when he chased them and knocked them out.

I think the lesson to be learned here is, if you tell a former heavyweight champion boxer you have a gun, you best have it. And it better be loaded, with the safety off. You had best be a good shot, and willing to use it.

YES! I'm not a Mike Tyson fan, but I'm always happy to hear about a well deserved a**-whoopin'.

Stopped being defense.... If you are stupid enough to challenge mike tyson or any heavy weight champ to a fight. Then you should be chased down and beaten. At least maybe it will get some sense into you. Fucking idiots.

Exactly my point. People are stupid.... If you threaten you better be able to back it up.

I know. What's sadder is that Tyson is facing a year in jail for beating up two morons.

yeah, those two were morons, they were pissed cuz he wouldnt give em an autograph...but mike isnt the smartest guy in the world right now...if uve got the latest edition of boxing digest, it has a chapter full of Tysons criminal charges/cases...for a boxer, he sure does have alot of vented anger and no knowhow whatsoever on how to control his anger...but hes one hell of a fighter

    Exactly!

These Nimrod the mighty hunters spent way too much time suck'n on their crack pipe, acted stupid and got knocked out. However legally speaking it wasn't self-defense. Use of force in most states do not allow you to continue harming a person (defending your self) once they have stopped or are no longer able to continue the assault. Once they ran they were no longer attacking, once Mike gave chase he was no longer defending.

I thought he would have handlers that would protect from this kind of incident, but I guess Mike once again showed us just how incredibly stupid he really is.

If they really did have guns Mike would be in the morgue with a toe tag. He'll be lucky to walk away with just some jail time.

Mike is bucking for a Darwin award.
    The law of tyranny:

    1. Any power that can be abused will be abused
    2. Abuse always expands to fill the limits of resistance to it.
    3. If people don't resist the abuses of others, they will have no one to resist the abuses of themselves, and tyranny will prevail.
