I don't plan to gointo b.k. boxing matches but am convinced any martist could learn very important skills from this art because there are no gloves in the street and fists get broken....

For a very long time I used a wood door as a punching bag. For the first bit it really hurt my hands but after a while you can hit it harder and harder. I liked it better then the heavy bag I have now because it never really had any give to it so my wrists never buckled.

I dont really recommend this but I know my hand wont break because I focused mostly on the little knuckles on my hand, now all my knuckles are rock hard. I bet I will have joint problems but I can punch most anything at full power and not really hurt myself. And I dont do it anymore.

The door is a bit warped now though.

Fist

cant say i can give u any drills and techniques but im reading a book on LENNY McLEAN he was the world bare knuckle boxing champ. he was the big bastard in lock stock and two smoking barrels. he died in 1998 of cancer or something like that. he claims to of had over 2000 street brawls and bk fights he never lost a fight and no fight went past 5 mins. read the book the stuff he went through as a child made him into a hard barstard. bk fights arnt just fist fights u can stomp on there face eye gouge grab his nuts its a hard sport and u would need to be an animal to do anywell.

in the book he never really did much training at the start but i think most of his training he did was boxing, weights and running

I think that kind of man must know some tricks to end fights quickly..... you don't want the fight to last too long without gloves.... this could be interesting to learn...

u guys are crazy. if u want to **** up ur hands for life, keep punching wood and aluminum. If u want to win ur fight quick, u better train damn hard, cuz u gotta figure ur opponents not there for bullshit; hes trained. so if u really want to win ur fights, train whenever u can, sparr as much as u can, and try and not break ur knuckels on anything before the bout.

We do knuckle push ups on tar sometimes outside of our dojang. I found that to help out. I would recommend punching heavy bags without gloves. The kung fu guys condition their hands with some heated sand stuff. They may have something intresting for ya to work with as well.

Clothy texture like heavy bag? I'd say your hands are good. I would recomend knuckle push ups to strengthen the wrist. Very good to strech your wrists. I do that all the time . I am not sure if this is the best link but has some info on wrist stuff http://www.netfit.co.uk/stretmen.htm . I read this about conditioning knuckles

"While the worst consequence of knuckle conditioning is only a bad appearance, if you exceed the nervous limits of your fingers, calcium deposits will be built on the phalanx, restricting movements."

I dunno if it is true but may be. I would be careful. I think if you hit your heavy bag with no gloves and don't bleed would be good enough. In a street fight you won't care if you bust a knuckle. You will be too pumped and the fight will be too short for any problems. My two cents. I like to do knuckle pushups on tar though .

Mine are good as long as I punch with the two inner knuckles . They are hard. I just realized today when pad holding for a black belt that hurt their knuckles and wrists . Was not pretty for me to watch. My finger nails are too since I like to do tiger claws . I guess that is from striking that rubber guy bob.
