Default Boxing Simulation Vidgame

Anyone play MoCap boxing by Konami?

I go down to the arcade just to see what's new and there it is. MoCap boxing.
http://espn.go.com/espninc/zone/s/lasvegasArena.html

Its a game that gives the player 2 electronically attached, hard plastic bag gloves and has touch sensors on the board. Should I play it? Why not.

I commited my laundry money to this one, so I wanted to make sure it would be worth while

I noticed that the floor pad was a little too small for my liking. The game isn't really designed for boxers, rather as a boxing simulator, minus any real physical contact.

You keep on fighting until you eventually get to the top ranked guy, so by the time you step off this thing you are dripping with sweat.

The first guy had a so-so record; an equal number of wins as losses. I beat him with my jab and left hook. Stepping in with solid jabs, double jabs, jabbing low and hooking left. He landed a right cross over one of my jabs that rocked me, but I kept the pressure on him and won by TKO 1st round...lol

Second guy was BIG and orthodox. The floor pad wasn't responding as well as I'd have liked but I kept circling the guy to his left and coming under neath with hooks and uppercuts to his body. I got knocked down by one of his hooks but got back up and kept doing the same thing. In the 2nd round I dazed him with an uppercut that let me land a 12 punch combo ala DeLahoya...LOL You've got to play this game!!

Third guy had a good record and was a Russian fighter. This guy was smarter and a good counter puncher. I tried hard to set him up baiting him with low jabs then coming over the top different things to make him go high or low and hit em where he wasn't expecting, but he kept picking me apart! So I worked his body a little until I could figure out how to stop him. I got lucky landing an overhand over his jab, which gave me a 5 punch combination but he wouldn't go down! He regained his composure and picked me apart again until I got KOd

At the end of the game, you get a ranking on several different aspects. You get punch statistics, speed, power, defense by percentile ranking according to some comparable record. I had very good speed (90th percentile), good power (82th percentile), average defense (60th percentile). They recommend I use more head movement in the later rounds, but dude that Russian guy was a counterpuncher from hell!

I've played it. It was cool, but you have to punch a bit slower otherwise it doesn't always read them. And it will make you sweat which if you are dressed up for going out is not the best, as was my case.

Still worth playing
