I have recently aqquired shin splints sumhow thhrough my training they are absoloute agony but i dont want to miss any training sessions as i have been told after 5 months of attending my gym i am nearly ready for competition. dos anybody know any good ways to get rid of shinsplits quikly, i have visteded the docter and he said i should rest it for a month untill he has a physiotherapist ready for me but can anybody help me in the mean time. thanks

I got shin splints in football.... I just toughed it out and they went away after a while. Hurt like a bitch anytime someone touched my shin though, I would fall over like I was dying.
Ice them whenever you can, 15 minutes on, 45 minutes off.... try to stretch good too, especially your lower leg.... plantar flexions and dorsiflexions. Lots of Ice.
