Default What should be my next step?

I'm a boxer but I want to do another art. But dont know what? I was thinking BJJ for its ground attacks, Muay Thai with its kicking n kneeing or JKD for its mixed martial arts.

It all depends on what you are learning for. are you going to compete? do you want self defence or both?

Add some shooto, some Krabi Krabrong, and the FMA's (Inosanto, dikiti/pekiti, and sayoc) and you've got the curriculum my instructors teach.

You'll go further in any art if you follow your preferences. You'd do well to study something with ground attacks, and you'd do well to study something with kicking and in-fighting, so any of the arts you listed would round out your game. However, if you go for something you don't feel passionate about, your progress will be minimal. And I can tell you, if you've been a boxer all your life, grappling is nice because it's a lot easier on your body. Muay Thai is nice because it's a hell of a workout, but the footwork is a lot simpler and there's the abilitty to throw a variety of tools so nothing gets overworked. JKD is a great art when you study it under a combative-minded, knowledgeable, helpful instructor. It gives you a way to pick apart other training methods, it makes you more curious, and it builds an overall fighting approach. But be careful who you train with. JKD is becoming a lot like Kempo or Tae Kwon Do in that everyone seems to have a school these days, and very few of the instructors have the practical knowledge to get you where you need to be. Their technique may be top-notch, but most have not had to live the hard miles that make an instructor understand what fighting is all about. My advice: If you live close enough, (meaning within a hundred miles) go take classes at the Inosanto Academy. Not only is Guro Dan awesome about working on the goals you tell him are important to you, there are so many incredible instructors under that roof that you'll find anything you're looking for as taught by the world's best.

Default If your train for self defense

Then you definately need to add the ground component to your self defense arsenal. BJJ,Judo, or sumbission wrestling would be good.Someone skilled in boxing and grappeling is a tough foe to beat. Randy Coture,Don Fry,Tank Abbot,Gary Goodrich and many others come to mind.Better yet why not train in MMA that way you'll get both grappling and mauy thai techniques(punches low kicks elbows, knees, clinching ect.) and you'll know how to mix strikes with take downs.
