| Premiere Member | congratulations Bigman21. I wouldnt worry about combos right now, you might teach yourself bad habits that might take a while to correct. In the meantime I would start working on conditioning. Start Jogging, sprinting, swimming, jumping, etc. Get a double-end bag and start working that. Your trainer will teach you all the combos you'll need. And He'll show you the proper way to work them.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ditto on the conditioning. Cardio work (long, slow runs) and high intensity intervals (sprints) are really good for boxing. Its not so much about strength, more about speed, finesse and timing. Have fun with it. Good luck to you! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Off the Jab, work off the jab. Double left hook is a classic, one to the body then upstairs to the head. The 1, 2 is another classic. Jab, Cross...Uppercuts in close. .................................................................................................... ...............................................

| Registered User | The ringside boxing guide is good, their how to work the double end bag tape is crap though, title boxing has some good videos like: how to work the heavy bag, mastering the basics, counter punching, and punching at angles, the best boxing/ma series I've found is rodney king's street boxing series from straight blast gym. Rodeny is truely a class act.Combos: Jab, cross, Jab, 1-2-1 Jab, cross, front hook, 1-2-3 Cross,Jab 2-1 Jab, cross, front hook, rear hook 1-2-3-4 Jab, cross, front uppercut, cross Basically read every boxing or kickboxing book(there's more of them on the market for some reason) you can get your hands on, a book called "boxers start up" is a good choice and "fighting fit" is a continueation in the series I think. |
