Default Boxing: is the sport improving?

i was watching some old fights and commenting on there defense and offensive. How way back they use to box differently and put there hands different ways and throw different punches. Is boxing improving, with science deveoloping better ways to work individual muscles and the best defense and the best punch to throw in a oppurtinity. Will new defenses and punches be developed for the average boxer to learn and use or are we at the end of the line its just who has more talent and trains harder? Does boxing have much father to go in the area of punches and defense?

Default no, no, no

The guys may be in better shape but their defense sucks compoared to old school fighters, ever since they banned hitting in a clinch, the forearm shiv and using an open glove it's not been the same sport. I am so sick of watching some of the guys do their worst impression of stand up grappling/stall city, so boring, on a lighter note, a guy got ko'ed on friday night fights, last night and his legs started twitching wildly,I hope it's nothing permanent though
Imagine how much more combat oriented/cool boxing would be to watch if you could hit in the clinch, boxing is still great though
