![]() | My question is, would working with heavier gloves put your timing off when you finally switch to 8 oz for a fight? I hear it's actually good (to use big gloves) as it developes endurance and power, but if that is so why doesn't anyone in my gym use them? I'm also considering buying a pair of Cleto reyes, known for their long cuff (and better wrist protection), but dont wanna fork out 100$ for a pair of 12 oz and then find them to heavy or cumbersome to train with. Any feedback is appreciated, on both gloves size and how to care for my sprained wrist. Many thanks

![]() | As long as the equipment you use protects your hands/whatever they are supposed to protect, i don't really care about anything else. Personally i just use hand wraps to punch the bags with. But if you want to use gloves on the bag, i don't recommend forking out top dollar for anything special. Just use an old pair of gloves. Weight usually doesn't matter. But if you want to train endurance, use slightly heavier gloves. Its not what you train with. Its how you train with what you have. |

![]() | yeah i just go for the handwraps, or even bare knuckle . . best for toughning the hands. . obvisouly if u are a boxer though u probs wanna protect your hands a suppose and to be honest though i dont think it matters that much for the bag wat size of gloves. you will be getting pains in the wrist cus they are not quite strong enough, take it easier on the bag then build up, give it little wile and u will b able to crack it full pelt! otherwise it was because you punched it incorrectly, u did say u had a relaxed wrist! dont go for the heavy bag unless ur ready for it
