Default Utilizing right hook/hand

Hey guys.
I'm looking for some tips on how to make better use of the right hook, when in a conventional stance. Can you guys give me some tips? I'm looking for more theory related tips, like where, when, and why to make use of this punch, also your experience using it the way you do.

I'm also looking for tips on using the straight hand more, and being effective with it. I've been watching a lot of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Roy Jones since I know they use a lot of right hand leads.

Thanks!

Arrow about the right hook..

THIS WHOLE MESSAGE IS BY ASSUMING YOU ARE NOT A SOUTHPAW./UNORTHODOX

Personaly i like to use it as the last punch in my favorite combination..i stole it from the Torres vs Medina bout.

It goes : Jab ,- Feint Right Cross,Step forward (lowering body),transfer weight to right leg, weave right, RIGHT HOOK!..You can view this exact combination here ..Tune At 24Secs --*> Medina Vs Torres- Welterweight 8 rounds-

A good thing is to never lead the right hooks because most of the time it puts you off-balance and in a vulnerable spot.
To use the right hook effectively you must put your entire body by using it's rotative force(also lift slightly your right foot just like when throwing a straight cross except this time you pivot just a little to the left.

Another nice right hooking situation is during in-fighting..put your head on your oponent's breast bone and throw them to the body..(this works great when fighting taller oponents.)..

well,im not a hooking expert yet but i believe personnaly that ,used properly, the right hook is the most devastating punch in boxing and every fighter should spend considerable time mastering it...and using it in various combinations.

Try adding the right cross also. It comes in at a diagonal angle not circular like the hook. It's devastating if you land it on the corner of the jaw.
