Bummer. It's always a good fight when you get two, determined, tough, nose-to-nose style guys together. Especially when that Mexican fighter's pride is coming from both corners.

It was cool that this got cancelled because when it was rescheduled in Tucson, tickets were $45 and $75 and $150. Can't beat those prices!!

Rocky Juarez substained a deep cut above his eye in the first round. He spent the whole fight wiping blood. Over all it was a good fight but would have been better if not for the headbutt. No knockdowns, just a scientific and tactiful chessmatch.

From the reviews I read, Rocky lost a match that was really never in contention. He showed heart, fighting in the condition he was in, according to most observers, but the outcome was as expected - with Marquez a clear victor.

I have to say, I expected Marquez to win, but I always give guys like Juarez a puncher's chance. Still, Marquez was by far the more polished and experienced pro, and if he hadn't won against Juarez, it might have been a career hitch for him.

I look forward to the free version next Saturday.

Aside from the cut, Rocky just had slower hands from the git go. He was a trooper, though--really stuck it out through the end even with that cut.

It was a good fight!!!! I wrote about it a little on the fri. night thread iirc
