Ricky Hatton put a hit on Floyd Mayweather in his beloved Manchester when he embarassed Mayweather with his own verbal taunting. Check out this video of Hatton verbally abusing Mayweather in front of his hometown fans.

You can't see past your own hatred of Mayweather, it has nothing to do with class or who you admire. I honestly think you would kiss Osama Bin Laden's ass if he was to rip into Mayweather.
My silence should tell you is that I have a job that requires long hours (12+) and I'm sorry but this forum really isn't that big of a priority for me.
I'll keep my response brief:
1. Hatton really didn't need to make Mayweather look like a schmuck. I'm sure you agree Mayweather does that well all by himself.
2. I'll retract the OBL remark since it seems to have really gotten your panties in a bunch.
3. On the subject of class: I know many, many people both in and out of the military who use profanity the way other people use prepositions. Some of them I think of as "a class act", some I admire, some I really don't care for at all.
The question of class in this instance is based not upon whether or not someone curses, but rather on understanding and acting in a way that is appropriate for a given situation. What is acceptable in the club, on a street corner, or way up in the boonies is not acceptable in a church, in a classroom, in a court of law, or on live national (or international) TV.
Hatton's rips on Mayweather would have been just as good wihout all the cursing. I think they would have had even more zing, plus we could have heard the entire broadcast without the announcer apologizing profusely (he seems to think Hatton's cursing was inappropriate, hmmmmm. . . .). I really hated to see Hatton sink down to that level.
R Lee Ermey is a pretty good example. In Tom Yum's post (and thank you for posting it Tom) we have him using every possible vulgar use of profanity in the book, yet on his show Mail Call he doesn't use any(well at least I've never heard it, I haven't seen every episode). In 8 seasons so far I haven't heard him drop the F bomb once. T
4. IMHO it would be great for both fighters if Hatton knocked the piss out of Mayweather and fed him a little humble pie. Then Hatton would gain his recognition and maybe Mayweather just might hit the gym with a new trainer and add some offensive capability to his defense.
Peace out. . . .

THere may be a cultural gap as well, im not really sure how swearing is viewed in the states but in the uk swearing is common place, even among the upper classes, its frowned upon in kids tv and radio. it might get bleeped out for uk audience if its a daytime report but most would find it amusing.
He did this in the uk not the states, possibly for this reason. just a guess though.
Yeah we get american programs alot in the uk and although some are excellent its totally different.
In the uk its alot less strict and any language and topic is acceptable if its relevant to the plot from the worst swear words and dramas about pedophiles and rape. we often comment that the american content we get on tv is very tame and rarely hard hitting.
I think hatton thought, right im in the uk, i can speak more freely now.
I love a good, well placed curse word. And I hope Mayweather beats the snot out of Hatton.
