Don't beat yourself up about analyzing. That is, after all, how I came up with all the shit I write down when people ask questions like yours. I wouldn't have any answers at all if it weren't for ridiculously detailed analysis. Sometimes it's a waste of time and you hit a dead end, but most of the time, you learn something you can use.
